Rental for film, TV, videoclips & photoshoots
Many microphones are excellently suited for studio use and historical recordings.
In recent years, a number of microphones have been used for domestic and foreign films, such as Elvis., De Oost, de Dirigent, Dutch tv series, videoclips, commercials and photoshoots.
Set designers and prop masters make grateful use of my expertise, acquired through years of research. This allows the right choices to be made and anachronisms to be avoided visually; you don’t have a caveman making a call with an iPhone.
The appearance of one of my microphones in Baz Luhrman’s Elvis film. In the photo below from the official trailer, the Electro Voice RE 15 that I rented. Because ‘the King’ performed from the fifties to the seventies, a huge number of beautiful microphones can be seen in the film.

The Jewish Council, EO drama series, won the Silver Nipkov disc in 2024. I also supplied historical microphones and advice for this series, so I am very happy with that prize. It’s nice to be able to provide this ‘heavy series’, which had to show a nuanced view of the times, with real microphones from that time. My aim is always to use exactly the right microphones for historical productions, always in consultation with the production.

I recently rented out a few historic microphones for a Belgian clip. I received a link to the result from the creator, Joren van Houdt. It turned out to be a clip for the Belgian (original) version of De Slimste Mens and the clip is super funny, really worth watching:
A request from Hollywood: if I could supply ten Philips EL 6031 microphones to prop rental company ‘History for Hire’, for a film about the Eichmann trial in Jerusalem in 1962. With a deadline of two weeks that was not easy, but we managed it in the nick of time.
